The LabJack T7 is a multifunction DAQ device capable of reading a wide variety of signals. The analog inputs feature a programmable gain amplifier that allows the T7 to read large signals like pressure sensors or battery voltages, all the way down to small signals like thermocouples and load cells. Sampling rates up to 100 kHz allow for capturing fast-moving signals, and the channel count can be easily expanded using MUX expansion boards. The T7 also measures and generates digital signals, making it capable of acquiring data from almost any sensor type.

Features

The T7 features analog inputs designed for high-precision data acquisition in demanding environments. Whether you are monitoring industrial sensors, conducting laboratory research, or logging field data, the T7 delivers great signal integrity.

  • 14 Analog Inputs: 4 on screw terminals of the main body of the T7. All 14 can be access through the DB37 and the CB37 can be used to break those out to screw terminals.

  • Programmable Gain Amplifier: A built-in amplifier that can be set to gains of 1, 10, 100, or 1000. The ranges are ±10, ±1, ±0.1, ±0.01 Volts, respectively.

Onboard Signal Analysis

AIN_EF (Analog Input Extended Features) simplifies your workflow by performing mathematical operations directly on the device. This allows for data processing without additional complication or overhead on your host computer. Key features include:

  • Min/Max/Average: Samples at a specified rate and duration, then returns calculated values for that data set.
  • RMS: Automatically computes the Root Mean Square of a signal.
  • Temperature Conversion: Directly calculates temperature from RTD, Thermistor, or Thermocouple inputs.

The LabJack T7 features 23 Digital I/O lines.

Digital Signal Measurement & Generation

DIO_EF has several modes that measure, count, or generate digital waveforms. These features allow the device to handle high-speed timing and signal logic independently of software polling.

  • PWM Output: Generate pulse-width modulated signals with configurable frequency, duty cycle, phase offsets, and pulse counts.
  • Counter: Tally how many times a pulse is observed on a line.
  • Frequency & Period Measurement: Measure the frequency, period, or pulse width of incoming digital signals.
  • Quadrature Decoding: Interface with rotary encoders to track position and direction of rotation.
  • Pulse/Line-to-Line Timing: Measure the exact time elapsed between signal edges on two different digital inputs.
