LJTick-Divider

Overview

The LJTick-Divider (LJTD) is a signal conditioning module designed to take two single-ended higher voltage analog signals, and divide them by a specified value. These devices come in divide by 4, 5, 10, 25, and "C" or Custom. The 4-pin design plugs into the standard AIN/AIN/GND/VS screw terminal block found on LabJacks such as the U3, U6, UE9, T7, and T4.  The use of large resistors and a precision op-amp buffer provides an input impedance of 1 megaohm. The resistors can be customized to allow for a wide range of configurations, including adding offset to handle bipolar voltages.

The typical output range of the LJTD is 0-3.5 volts.  Here are the input ranges corresponding to 0-3.5 volts output, but keep in mind that some LabJack analog inputs are limited to 2.44 or 2.5 volts:

  • LJTD-4: Vin 0 to 14.0 volts.
  • LJTD-5: Vin 0 to 17.5 volts.
  • LJTD-10: Vin 0 to 35.0 volts.
  • LJTD-25: Vin 0 to 87.5 volts.
  • LJTD-C: Custom slope and offset.  See Table 1 of the LJTD Datasheet for some options.

The LJTD can also be useful for digital signals by connecting to the DIO/DIO/GND/VS screw terminal block found on LabJacks such as the U3, U6, UE9, T8, T7, and T4.  The LJTD-4 works great for handling 12V or 24V logic signals, as described in the LJTD Datasheet.

Custom Dividers

If the custom range is selected, specify the desired range in the order comments and expect a 1-5 day delay. See the LJTD Datasheet for typical custom options and names used to specify. If you are purchasing a custom divider (or need help ordering one) feel free to send us an e-mail at support@labjack.com
