UE9 IP Communication Error with Labview

I am using a UE9, external power supply, IP connection. It has been running fine (> 6 months) using Labview code generated using the available base examples provided until recently. The following has been occurring, and after purchase of a new UE9 the same issue is continuing to occur. Any support would be appreciated.

After initial power up using an external power supply, when I use the Labview "UE9 Config Comm.vi", set up with the correct IP address to connect and the same IP to write (e.g. just testing the config setup and communication) and run the code for the first time I receive an Error 7008: LJUD_eGetSS.vi, Labjack error #1008: Communication failure occurred at LJUD_eGetSS.vi. If I run the code a second time I receive the same result. When I run the code a third time, the errors clear and the code runs fine and continues to do so everytime thereafter until powered down. When the power is removed then reapplied the same cycle occurs. This result of success on the third code cycle is very repeatable, having done this many many times over the past few days on two separate UE9 units. The easy work around in the code is to loop the initialization setup for the UE9 >3 times upon startup of the software, however this is only masking a potential problem.

When I use the LJ Control Panel it generally is connecting successfully 9 out of 10 times, with the 10th returning a result identical to that detailed in the post in this forum titled "LJ Control only displaying UDP address (no TCP or USB)". It also seems that when I use the USB connection in conjunction with the "UE9 Config Comm.vi", I do not have the same connection issues.

As mentioned, I have now tried this with two UE9 units including one new UE9 that I have received just this morning. I would appreciate any help you may be able to provide to understand this issue. Thank you for your help.

That is strange. I don't have much to go on, but here are a few tests the may give us some sort of clue:

Try using DHCP.

Try a different network with a static IP.

Try a different netowrk with DHCP enabled.

I'm having this issue too.

I'm having this issue too.

I'll get a 6002 error (1002 if not using labview)

This will either follow or precede a 7008 Error (1008)

Only way to fix it is a hard reset of the UE9.  This typically can be reproduced reliably if the UE9 is unpluged from the network and plugged back in.  However, it also seems to occur randomly without user interaction.

That seems a good place to focus on as I do not see that same behavior.  I just did a simple test at my desk.  I set up my UE9 with a valid static IP then ran LJLogUD.  It starts collecting data, and then I can disconnect/reconnect while running and it always comes back after a few seconds.  Try doing the same with LJLogUD.

UD 3.50
UE9 Comm 1.550
UE9 Control 2.260

Note that my UE9 Comm firmware is out of date, but I can't update at the moment.  Will update later and test with 1.58.
